The objective of the course is totrain economists who, with their theoretical and methodological knowledge, are capable of exploring the social dimensions of environmental problems, taking into account the interactions between social and natural systems, analysing social, cultural and ecological processes from an economic perspective, contributing to the formulation of global and regional development and environmental policies, strategies and programmes in a creative and innovative way, and cultivating economic geography, regional and environmental social sciences. The training will enable you to carry out independent analytical and planning tasks, to work in teams and to manage, analyse and conduct research on sustainable development in the academic, public and private sectors. Students will be introduced to the latest ICT solutions (VR, AR, MR, XR applications) of Metaverzum and their application in regional and environmental economics, which is unique in the European academic field of economics. Students are prepared to continue their studies in a doctoral programme.

Training duration: 2 years, 4 semesters
Admission requirements:
BA or bachelor's degree (in economics, law, administration, engineering, agriculture, natural sciences, social sciences, teacher) or MA or master's degree (in economics, law, administration, engineering, agriculture, health, natural sciences, social sciences, teacher); admission interview.
Assessment procedures:
Assessment during the semester typically takes the form of an essay, project work, group assignment or presentation. The material from the lectures will be examined during the examination period according to the requirements set out in the scheme of requirements issued at the beginning of the semester.
A prerequisite for passing the final examination:
Completion of the required compulsory subjects and one specialisation, as well as the electives necessary to complete the 120 credits.

In which field can you find a job:
Work in companies, banks in the fields of economic strategic planning, economic sustainability, as a national expert delegated by Hungary or as a full-time staff member of international organisations (UN, World Bank, OECD, EU, UNCTAD, FAO, ESPON, EEA), and in public administration, in organisations with foreign affairs, foreign trade, international relations, as a senior analyst, strategist, consultant, in environmental and nature protection organisations, in companies dealing with spatial planning, development, sustainability, in public organisations or research institutes. University teaching in departments with a regional and/or environmental profile. In municipalities as a consultant or expert in urban marketing or urban development.
