The motorcycle, unique in both technical and design aspects, was unveiled on 3 October 2022 on the Campus of John von Neumann University. The vehicle, the result of the technical and design work of the participants in the project, was unveiled in a ceremony performed by the Kecskemét City Ballet artists of the Kecskemét City Ballet.
The creation of the all-electric vehicle is the first milestone in the cooperation and professional relationship between the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design and John von Neumann University. The main objective of the project is to coordinate engineering and design work, providing students with practical experience in close collaboration between the two disciplines.
In his speech at the event, Norbert Csizmadia, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the John von Neumann University Foundation, stressed that the initiative is exemplary: "It shows that, following a joint decision by the two universities, it is possible to create a world leader in just one year by bringing the institutions together and working closely together." He stressed the sustainability that has accompanied the process of creating the engine and the fact that the project is the first step towards the creation of a common educational platform.
In his speech, Gergely Böszörményi-Nagy, President of the Board of Trustees of the MOME Foundation, stressed. We still have very busy weeks and months ahead of us to bring this engine and our joint projects to the market."
The event closed with the participation of the engineering and design teams that created the Supermoto, who highlighted that the bike is a reference for how engineers and designers can work together to create something that is a step towards green mobility and can be transformed from a concept into a marketable product.
Project Supermoto is supported by the Domus Meriti Foundation of Pallas Athena.
