Introduction:
Since beginning my academic career, I have specialized in teaching and research in energy economics, environmental economics, and sustainable development. As an Assistant Professor in the Department of International Economics at John von Neumann University, I teach macroeconomics among other subjects in the field.
I believe economics is most valuable when it addresses tangible societal and environmental challenges. As a researcher and educator, I am committed to ensuring academic knowledge informs policy, supports communities, and improves daily life. Issues such as energy poverty, climate change, and environmental sustainability are real challenges that influence social cohesion, economic resilience, and development.
In addition to teaching, I have led international research and policy projects as a Principal Investigator on international initiatives. This experience allows me to incorporate real-world policy contexts, data, and institutional constraints into my research and teaching.
In working with students, I emphasize critical thinking, independence, and practical application. I believe higher education should foster confidence, responsibility, and a long-term perspective on professional and societal roles.
My main research interests include energy economics, energy poverty, environmental policy, climate change, and sustainable development, with a regional focus on Europe and the Middle East.
Research areas:
Energy poverty, climate change, environmental policy, and water vulnerability
