Anna Szappanos

Introduction:

I joined the Faculty of Economics and Business at John von Neumann University in 2025 as a Master Teacher specializing in Tourism and Hospitality, where I teach both Hungarian and international students. I am very passionate about providing students with practical knowledge and hands-on experience that they can directly benefit from in their future careers. 

My hometown is Kecskemét, Hungary, but after graduating from the English specialized class at Bólyai János Gymnasium in 2015, I moved to Denmark to continue my university studies there. I completed my degrees in English, and in 2024, after spending nine years in Denmark - a period that encompassed both my university studies and the launch of my professional career - I moved back to Hungary. Now, I aim to bring the Danish model of problem-based education to John von Neumann University, fostering a learning environment focused on critical thinking and real-world application. 

Educational Background:

My academic foundation is built on nearly a decade of international expertise from leading Danish institutions:

• Aalborg University (AAU) 2019–2021: I earned my Master’s Degree in Tourism Management at the university's Copenhagen campus. My studies focused on global tourism development and innovation, social entrepreneurship, sustainability, and tourism policy.
• Copenhagen Business School (CBS) 2020–2021: As part of my Master’s program, I completed a semester at CBS - Denmark’s most renowned business school - specializing in Digital Marketing and Business Development, incorporating the credits earned there into my degree. This included specialized coursework in customer experience, business model innovation, and distance management for virtual communication in borderless work environments.
• University College Denmark (UCL) 2015–2019: I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in International Service, Hospitality, and Tourism Management. During my studies, I focused on service marketing, intercultural competences, global service economics and project management. 

Project Collaborations:

• Throughout my university years, I collaborated on projects with high-profile partners such as: SAS-Scandinavian Airlines, ILLUM (Danish luxury department store), Copenhagen Visitor Service, Copenhagen PIX Film Festival, Balder (major international property management group), The Royal Danish Collection, GoMore, Gislev Rejser (Danish well-known travel agency), Visit Vejle, and Hans Christian Andersen Airport.

Certifications and Professional Skills:

To ensure I possess up-to-date and modern expertise, I have also obtained several professional certificates:

• Google Certificate: Fundamentals of Digital Marketing and Introduction to Responsible AI.
• University College Denmark (UCL) Social Media Certificate: Social Media Marketing (Facebook Ads Analysis and Audience Insight).
• Excel Institution Certificate: Professional Excel Usage (budgeting, spreadsheet analysis, and logical functions).
• KVUC Language School Certificate: B1 level proficiency in Danish.
• Language Skills: I possess a C2-level, near-native command of English, and I communicate at a conversational level in Danish.
