On behalf of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality, we welcome you to our website!
The tourism and hospitality sector is considered one of the largest and most diverse industries in the world. It draws attention as a modern service sector and a means of connecting nations, countries, and different people. Hungary possesses a rich cultural and environmental heritage that attracts a large number of tourists both domestically and internationally, who arrive for both leisure and targeted visits. These unique assets must be protected, developed, and promoted, which also brings diplomatic and scientific advantages.
In order to attract more visitors, the education of tourism and hospitality is essential so that we may learn the art of attracting visitors according to their tastes. This goal can only be achieved with human resources trained in this regard. Therefore, John von Neumann University approved the establishment of a new Department of Tourism and Hospitality in 2023.
Tourism has now become an industry, and a wide range of expertise is needed in the areas of marketing, management, and development presentation. The department's mission is to encourage, promote, and develop tourism as a key socio-economic activity in order to promote tourism and hospitality. The benefits of tourism must be extended to wider segments of the population through support, assistance, and the backing and cooperation of the private and public sectors. Students graduating from the department's programs will ensure a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable stay and travel for foreign and local tourists in the country.
The following programs are starting in the autumn of 2023:
- Tourism and Hospitality BSc basic program (full-time and correspondence)
- Tourism and Hospitality FOSZK higher education vocational training (full-time and correspondence)
